EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/MUSIC DIRECTOR
Julie Condy founded the Summer Stages
Children's Theater in 1993 as a church program which, in
1995, spun off into Stage to Stage, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonproft
organization. Under her leadership, the theater has taken
on a new, epxanded role in enriching the lives of Katrina-stricken
New Orleans, and has recently been renamed to the Crescent
City Lights Youth Theater.
Ms. Condy holds a Bachelor of Music Education
from Loyola University and studied voice for three years
in Salzburg, Austria, with Frau Professor Cornelia Prestel,
currently of the Vienna Hochschule fuer Kunst und Musik.
A longtime member of the New Orleans Opera Chorus (20+ years),
she is also the supernumerary coordinator for the company
and has been choir director and soprano soloist at various
churches in New Orleans including Grace Lutheran Church and
First Presbyterian Church. She serves as the regional board
member for the American Guild of Musical Artists and teaches
music part-time at St. Anthony of Padua School in New
Orleans
.
DIRECTOR
Kevin Charpentier holds an MFA in directing
from the University of New Orleans.
He has been directing
shows with Crescent City Lights since 2004. Before retiring
from the Orleans Parish School System
after
30 years, Kevin most recently taught
Talented in Theatre
(TAT) classes at Warren Easton High School and McDonogh #15
Elementary
School.
COSTUMER
Charlotte Lang has been the costumer for
Crescent City Lights since 2000. She is
the resident costumer
for the New Orleans Opera Association and has costumed
several
productions
for
Tulane Summer Lyric Theatre including The Mikado and
Camelot in
2004. She is also a singer/actor and has performed at numerous
venues
in New Orleans including Le Chat Noir. She is currently
playing the “"Witch"” in the
New Orleans
Opera children's production of Hansel and Gretel.
