You won't want to miss Wanna Play?!, the  brilliant musical revue featuring 19 talented New Orleans pre-teens & teens. Join them as they explore the pains, pleasures and insanities of early adolescence, opening Friday, June 19 at the NORD Ty Tracy Theatre in Gallier Hall at 545 St. Charles Ave.  The production runs through Sunday, June 28 with performances on Fridays at 7:30 p.m., Saturdays at 1:00 p.m., Sundays at 3:00 p.m. and Thursday, June 25 at 7:30 p.m.

This tuneful revue features imaginative songs reflecting the thoughts and feelings of children about friendship, family and just being a kid.   In “I’m Just an Ordinary Schoolgirl,” Jessica Bagneris spins a dream of a girl-next-door who in her “heart of hearts” wants to be a rock star.  A boy (Tucker Godbold) is wrapped up in his computer (Haley Evans) in the vaudeville number, “Computer.”  A young girl (Shayla Lange) dreams of life on the Broadway stage in “Choices.”   Big finales include the rousing gospel number, “Think for Yourself” (Sean-Michael Bruno) and “Say Yes,” with a razz-a-ma-tazz kick line.

Rounding out the cast of 19 talented young performers (ages 8 to 16) are Kennedi Harrell, Jadah Henry, Sammie Jackson, Ghita Johnson, Mary Kaitlyn Kimbrough, Johan Lowe, Olivia Mixon, Erica O'Neal, Jenna Pertuit, Dorian Richard, Taylor Sanders, Rachele Smith, Annie Taffaro and Stephanie Turner.

"A spectacular smash. I only wish that half the New York musicals I have seen in recent years were a fraction as tuneful."-- Kansas City Star. A finalist (with "Sesame Street" and "Mr. Rogers") for the Alpha Award for excellence in children's television.

From our audience

"All of the kids in the show were so polished, and it

was obvious that they all really enjoyed being onstage."
"The absolutely perfect behavior of the children
in the audience can only be attributed to the excellence of the
players. The kids watching were just entranced by the story, the
music & the kids onstage. And so were the adults. This was really
fun."

"Awesomely talented kids!  A must-see!"
