Drama Classes

After School Classes for Kindergarten through 12th grade!

April 7 through May 15

Location: First Grace United Methodist Church,

3401 Canal St., (corner Jefferson Davis Pkwy.)

K & 1st grade, Monday, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. (one hour class)

2nd and 3rd grade, Tuesday, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. (one hour class)

4th, 5th and 6th grade, Wednesda,y, 4:30 - 5:30 p.m. (one hour class)

7th through 12th grade, Thursday, 4:15 - 5:45 p.m. (one and a half hour class)

Tuition: Kindergarten through 6th grade - $70 7th through 12th grade - $100

Through those classes, CCLYT develops much of the talent you now see in our musicals. The content of CCLYT classes is geared to each specific age group. The students will learn theater games along with acting and diction exercises. These skills will be honed through the indiviual preparation of a memorized poem or monologue for presentation to family and friends at the final class.

Through drama instruction, children learn much more than developing their dramatic potential. Our theater kids learn to be self-reliant, develop their posture, project their voices, use better diction for clear understanding by the audience and to work within a team of talented peers.

To register your child, please download a registration form. To be registered in a class, the completed form with attachments must be received by Friday, April 4 by fax, email or mail. A checklist is at the end of the registration form.

An essay by the student MUST accompany the registration form. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Incomplete forms are not accepted.

Tuitition is due at the time of the first class.

A limited number of scholarships are available based on need. See the downloadable application for more information.

The scholarship form must be submitted along with the registration form by Friday, April 4.

Class size is limited to 15 students.
